The calendar of upcoming activities is included in each SFBAC Newsletter. To see the latest edition of the newsletter, please see the NEWSLETTER section of this web site.
For new events that get scheduled between newsletters, we send announcements to LPA members of SFBAC by e-mail, and update the list of activities on the SFBAC HOME section of this web site.
We organize events for everyone to spend time together and separately - teens, parents, singles, and families. Each month you can usually find something fun to do. For example:
Teen outings - New Year party and overnight, shopping, movies, bowling, miniature golf, basketball practices, ice skating.
Family gatherings - picnics, potlucks, campouts, soccer clinics, swimming parties, kite flying, pinata parties.
Parent meetings - parent discussions, mother's overnight, presentations by local medical professionals.
Over 21 outings - restaurants, clubs, concerts, movies, plays.
Seasonal celebrations - Spring egg hunt, Summer Tilden Park picnic, Summer sports and swimming outing, Autumn Bringing in the Holidays party, Winter Holidays dinner and dancing (and Santa!) party. |

In addition, each autumn the Painted Turtle organization holds one weekend of camp specifically for families and their 7-16 year old children with skeletal dysplasias. This is a wonderful opportunity to check out the facilities, the staff and to take part in the fun! On-site state-of-the-art medical clinic, medical staff, and camp counselors are available at all times. Painted Turtle camp is located near Lake Hughes, CA. There is no cost to attend camp, although donations are accepted. For more information please visit the web site, www.thepaintedturtle.org. |
